  FAQ's

WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS OF CHOOSING H2O ADVENTURES & MORE?

First and foremost, every event is led by an experienced guide. Second, all the planning is done for you. Third, we provide properly sized and fully sanitized gear for every adventure. As we like to say, book with us and it’s “show up and go.”

When planning each event, we prioritize your comfort and peace of mind. We closely monitor weather conditions, including marine forecasts for rain, wind, tides, water temperature, and water levels. In the rare case that conditions become unsafe, we may need to suspend or cancel the event. Because Mother Nature can be unpredictable, we always remain flexible, your safety is our top priority.

    3.    Complete your waiver and pre-ride checklist (found under the "Waiver & Checklist" tab on our website).

👉 To save time and reduce hand-to-hand contact, we strongly encourage completing and submitting your waiver(s) electronically before the day of your adventure.

    •    Take clear photos of both sides and text them to Ryn at (813) 784-3396, or

    •     Scan both sides and email them back to us.

Your reservation will be confirmed once we receive your payment(s), waiver(s) and checklist(s).

WHAT ABOUT THE WEATHER?

We want every adventure to be both safe and enjoyable, which is why we have clear guidelines in place and closely monitor local weather, wind, water levels, and marine forecasts. Some activities require specific conditions, and if those conditions aren’t met, the activity may need to be canceled to ensure safety and provide the best possible experience.

    •    Wind: If winds are forecasted above 12 mph, all kayak rentals and related activities will be canceled.

    •    Severe weather: Activities will also be canceled in the event of lightning, tornado threats, hurricanes, torrential rain or flooding, fish die-offs, red-tide,

agal blooms, or any other condition that may pose a risk.

Because Florida weather can vary block by block, we pay close attention to forecasts and conditions at your activity site. If your activity is canceled due to weather or nature-related conditions, we will gladly reschedule your adventure or issue a refund.

Waivers & Requirements

    •    Each participant must complete and sign our waiver and pre-ride checklist before the activity.

    •    Completed forms can be submitted by email (h2oadventuresandmore@outlook.com) or by texting photos of each page to (813) 784-3396.

    •    Refusal to sign the waiver means refusal of participation.

    •    H2O Adventures & More reserves the right to refuse service to anyone not dressed safely, unable to operate a kayak, or otherwise unable to safely participate.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT WHEN I ARRIVE TO AN ACTIVITY?

  • Take a personal inventory of your belongings and secure your vehicle.

  • If you were not able to complete the waiver and pre-ride checklist prior to arriving at the activity, the guide will hand you a clipboard with the waiver. Please move away from the boat ramp and/or launching area in order to complete the forms.

  • The guide will usually unload/ load kayaks and gear but if help is needed, they will direct you as to how you may assist them.

  • Before launching, the guide will conduct a briefing about what to expect, point out any areas of concern, review paddling techniques and ensure all participants have properly sized gear.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT DURING AN ACTIVITY?

As you paddle or hike, remember to relax, take in the sights, and enjoy yourself.

Private Property & Stopping

Please do not stop at houses, docks, or other private property along rivers and coastal waterways. Restrooms and facilities are only available at public parks, beaches, or boat ramps.

  • In lower water, sandbars and beaches may be available for breaks.

  • In higher water, stopping options will be limited.

  • If water levels are too low, you may need to briefly exit your kayak to lift or float it into deeper water. Never drag kayaks over gravel, oyster beds, or concrete.

Wildlife Awareness

Florida is home to incredible wildlife—you’re paddling in their habitat. Please:

  • Respect all animals and do not feed them.

  • Expect different wildlife depending on location:

  • Saltwater: manatees, dolphins, sharks, stingrays, fish, and seabirds

  • Freshwater: manatees, alligators, snakes, fish, and birds. Remember: alligators may be visible or hidden. If you see baby gators, stay away, mama is close.

  • Observe wildlife from a distance so they do not feel threatened.

  • If you wade in the water, stick to shallow areas where you can see the bottom.

Safety & Hazards

  • Avoid rope swings and bridges—water levels may be too shallow, there could be hidden hazards, or the structures may be on private property.

  • If you need help getting in or out of your kayak, ask your guide.

  • All outdoor and water activities involve inherent risks. Please use caution and common sense.

Time & Pacing

Be mindful of paddling time: it usually takes about 1.5 times longer to paddle upriver than it does to go downstream.

Trash & Stewardship

Please ensure that all trash returns to land with you. Your guide will provide buckets or bags for your trash, as well as for any litter you’d like to help remove from the waterway.

Compliance

Rules and restrictions are in place for your safety, the safety of others and your guide, and to protect our equipment. Please follow them at all times.

WHAT CAN I EXPECT AFTER THE ACTIVITY?

  • Please be sure to gather all of your belongings when exiting the kayak, as we are not responsible for personal items left behind.

  • Once you’re out of the water, kindly move your belongings away from the boat ramp or launch area so it remains clear for others arriving or departing.

  • Gratuity is not included but always appreciated. If you’d like to let your guide know you had a great time, tips may be given directly—or for convenience, you can use our online tip jar via Square or Venmo.

  • Thank you for joining us—drive safely, and we look forward to adventuring with you again soon!
